Yummy Yap Eating House offers signature noodles in Singapore from a family legacy of cooking and serving noodles.

“We are honoured to journey with our patients’ families and greatly moved by their acts of giving back. Mr Alan Yap is one example. His mother, Mdm Lee Yok Sim, was under our Inpatient Care and passed away peacefully in Assisi on 30 October 2018.

Mdm Lee used to be a wanton mee hawker, raising her children single-handedly with the income from her noodle stall. Mr Alan Yap recently opened @yummyyapeatinghouse with his sister, carrying on his mother’s legacy of cooking and serving yummy noodles. Grateful for the care that we provided to his mother previously, he donated the proceeds from the stall’s soft opening on 1 Feb to us.

Mdm Lee Yok Sim was a courageous mother. 1977 was a tragic year when an accident took her husband’s life, leaving her to raise five young children single-handedly. She secured a hawker stall near their home with the help of Dr Tony Tan, who was then a Member of Parliament. For the next 32 years, Mdm Lee spent long hours toiling at her wanton mee stall, bringing home the bacon to support her children.

In 2017, she was diagnosed with liver cancer and was admitted into Assisi Hospice in end 2018. Through the arrangements of the care team, Dr Tony Tan visited Mdm Lee, fulfilling one of her final wishes. She was all smiles as she finally had the chance to convey her gratitude personally.”
